Yarra Yarra Vineyard suffers significant losses in bushfires
11.02.2009Our thoughts are with friends and clients Ian and Anne Maclean of Yarra Yarra Vineyard who have suffered significant losses to both their winery and vineyard during the devastating bushfire in Steels Creek over the weekend. The vineyard had its first vintage in 1983 and has produced some of the best dry reds and whites in the country. Their greatest loss has been their collection of back-vintages but fortunately they are still operational.
The Victorian bushfires have claimed over 180 lives (it is expected to exceed 300) and destroyed over 1000 properties, resulting in one of the worst natural disaster that Australia has seen. Please by donate to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal to help these effected communities rebuild their lives.

Judge’s Comment
“This entry displays the quiet craft of ‘getting it right’, of combining craft, aesthetics and making the right decision so the work ‘speaks’ clearly. The framing of the images and the architecture of the layout is articulate and well considered and, as should happen with catalogues like this, creates a refined journey for the reader.”
