Type design
Studio Sam
11.02.2008
Samantha Parsons is an interior designer, product designer and landscape architect. To create Sam’s identity we reduced the letter forms of her name to a combination of moveable right-angle triangles.
The subsequent letterhead is perforated using the same repeated geometry so that it can be folded in an number of different combinations.

AGIdeas Design Night Invitations
19.02.2007Each year as part of the AGIdeas International Design Conference, studios around Melbourne open up their doors and give around 20 students the opportunity to experience a working studio. The invitations for these events have been used by the studio as typographic experiments.
The 2004 invitation used a typeface called Hex which was developed by Pidgeon and explores the application of multiple colours to a single letter form. In 2006 we explored the geometry of an extruded pentagon and 2007 a new typeface developed from the roof geometry of the Robin Boyd Baker House (see below).
Boyd Baker House
30.12.2006The Baker House, designed by Robin Boyd in 1964, was purchased by Peter Mitrakas in 2006 and has been made available for short term rental. Asked by Peter to create an identity for the property, we developed a logotype and typeface inspired by the geometry of the roofline of the Baker House.
