A series of National Award certificates for newly named Australian Institute of Architects (formerly Royal Australian Institute of Architects). The awards have three tiers of classification, Named Awards, National Awards and National Commendations, which needed to be differentiated from one another while remaining part of the same family.
New York Times Magazine

Design By Pidgeon was recently commissioned to create a typographic illustration for the On Language column in the New York Times Magazine. The title of the article No Docs, refers to the lack of documentation requested by US financial institutions to secure home loans; the likes of which have resulted in the Subprime financial crisis. Seven17 Bourke

Marketing for Seven17 Bourke, a 17 level commercial building designed by Andrew Norbury of Metier3 is located in the extension of Bourke Street in the Melbourne Docklands. The building will combine business and culture in an unprecedented manner with 18,750 sqm of premium commercial office space and the French fashion school Esmod.
To create the master imagery for the project, a garment was commissioned from Sydney designer Dion Lee with a brief to imitate the building form, flexibility and fashion connection. Photography by Bronwyn Kidd, with modeling by BalletLab dancer Jo White.





Semi-Permanent presentation

David Pidgeon had the pleasure of being one of twelve speakers to present to a crowd of over 1,600 people at the Semi-Permanent conference in Auckland held on 15 & 16 August.
David’s presentation looked at what he considers the bottom line in the business of design and what he considers the high ground. A number of requests for the text have been emailed to the studio, so we thought it best to post it on the website, projects illustrating the points can be found on the site.

Melbourne Winter Masterpieces prospectus

Prospectus created for Victorian Major Events Company (VMEC) to help secure future exhibits from around the world for the annual Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series, which are exhibited at Melbourne’s leading cultural institutions, the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and Melbourne Museum.
