Yarra Yarra Vineyard suffers significant losses in bushfires

11.02.2009

Our thoughts are with friends and clients Ian and Anne Maclean of Yarra Yarra Vineyard who have suffered significant losses to both their winery and vineyard during the devastating bushfire in Steels Creek over the weekend. The vineyard had its first vintage in 1983 and has produced some of the best dry reds and whites in the country. Their greatest loss has been their collection of back-vintages but fortunately they are still operational.

The Victorian bushfires have claimed over 180 lives (it is expected to exceed 300) and destroyed over 1000 properties, resulting in one of the worst natural disaster that Australia has seen. Please by donate to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal to help these effected communities rebuild their lives.

The art of existence is a major survey exhibition at Heide Museum of Modern Art that reviews the 40 year career of artist Les Kossatz and is open until 8 March 2009.

The recurring motif of the sheep throughout the exhibition inspired the development of an unconventionally stenciled version of the typeface Din for application to exhibition signage and advertising.

The Bon Air Social Tennis Tournament is a mixed doubles event that has been run on the Australia Day weekend in the seaside town of Anglesea since the early 1970s. As member of the orgainising committee in 2009, David Pidgeon seized the opportunity to create an identity for the tournament which had previously been without one.

This year the tournament supported the Anglesea CFA, raising $2,000 to assist with the redevelopment of their fire station.
