The world in painting is an Asialink and Heide Museum of Modern Art touring exhibition curated by Zara Stanhope and is being exhibited in Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Manila and Hanoi before returning back to Heide Museum of Modern Art in June 2008. The exhibition features the work of 8 Australian artists that collectively presents personalised worlds through painting that range from domestic interiors to dream-like landscapes. The featured artists are: John Citizen, Amanda Davies, Diena Georgetti, Raafat Ishak, James Morrison, Boxer Milner Tjampitjin, Nancy Naninurra Napanangka and Elizabeth Newman.

I recieved the catalogues for ‘world in painting’ yesterday (mail delay at this end) and promptly took it to bed to read each and every word, and scanned every picture. Wonderful. The cover is strong and simple. A rarity these days. Usually the cover features one artists work, and usually the one I least favour. So, I can proudly display the catalogue amongst my aesthetic-rare! rare! rare!
